Project Rescue Services

When the project is late and the team cannot inspire confidence.

Same-business-day response. A one-day deep dive. Then a rescue plan with specified end-state outcomes and a mapped path to get there — not an open-ended engagement.

The trigger
You know the shape of it before anyone says it out loud.
Call us when
  • ×The project is late, and each new estimate is less believable than the last.
  • ×It is over budget, with no credible line from spend to remaining scope.
  • ×Quality is lacking — defects reappear, releases are feared, and no one trusts the test evidence.
  • ×The current team cannot inspire confidence, in your client's eyes or your own.

These four conditions travel together, and by the time they are all present the technical problem is usually not the largest problem. Delivery discipline, ownership, and honest status reporting have gone first. A rescue has to address all of it, which is why we start with a day of looking rather than a proposal.

How a rescue starts

Fast response for difficult projects, then a bounded commitment on both sides.

Same business day

You reach out, we respond the same business day. Not a scheduling link three weeks out — a conversation with someone who can assess the situation, because at this stage speed is part of the remedy.

One-day deep dive

A single focused day with the people who know what is actually happening: the code and architecture, the backlog and estimates, the test and release process, the team structure, and the client's stated expectations. One day is enough to find the real constraints and short enough that no one has to justify the cost of looking.

Recommendations

A written assessment: what is wrong, what is recoverable, what should be abandoned, and what the realistic paths forward are. You get this whether or not you engage us for the rescue itself.

A rescue proposal, not a retainer

If a rescue makes sense, we propose one with specified end-state outcomes — the concrete conditions that define done. The path from current state is mapped out, with roles and responsibilities that both we and the client commit to. The engagement is not open-ended, and it is not an invitation to bill until the problem gets bored.

What we have actually rescued

Two engagements where the mandate was to restore delivery, not to advise on it.

Travel · Consumer booking portal

Two years without a delivery, then Air, Car, and Hotel shipped.

We took over leadership of development for a AAA travel portal — a troubled programme that had produced no delivered software for over two years — and delivered the portal software for Air, Car, and Hotel.

  • Assumed delivery leadership of the programme rather than advising alongside it.
  • Stood up a 75-person offshore development team.
  • Created repeatable processes for architecture, development, and QA, so delivery no longer depended on individual heroics.
  • Put Agile development practices in place.
  • Provided deeply involved direction throughout — from working with customer executives and the strategy team to analysing and recommending robust development and build practices.

Immersive platform · Surreal XP

Rebuilding an engineering organisation behind a real-time 3D platform.

Recruited to restore technology delivery and reposition the engineering organisation behind Surreal XP, an immersive browser-based platform built on Unreal Engine with real-time 3D rendering, avatars, and interactive digital environments.

  • Led a platform redesign that improved the product foundation, delivery reliability, and the organisation's ability to execute complex branded experiences for marquee clients.
  • Restructured and resized the technology team around measurable contribution, delivery ownership, and technical quality — identifying, retaining, and rewarding high performers while removing persistent execution bottlenecks.
  • Introduced stronger planning, engineering discipline, accountability, and cross-functional coordination, enabling multiple high-profile client projects to be delivered on schedule and to a materially higher quality standard.
  • Partnered with executive leadership on product direction, client commitments, staffing priorities, and the practical balance between innovation, platform investment, and dependable commercial delivery.

What a rescue includes

Delivery, not observation.

Technical assessment
Architecture, code quality, integration boundaries, data integrity, test coverage, and release mechanics — with a clear line between what to fix and what to replace.
Delivery restructuring
Planning, estimation, ownership, and reporting rebuilt so status is trustworthy and slips surface early rather than at the deadline.
Team and capacity
Where capability is the constraint, we bring engineers — onshore and from our Iași and Gurgaon centres — and we have built teams at scale when the situation demanded it.
Committed outcomes
End-state conditions specified in writing, with the path mapped and responsibilities held by both sides. A rescue with no definition of done is just more of the same project.
If you are a partner, the rescue can run entirely under your brand. Your client sees your firm arriving with reinforcements, not a replacement.
If it is already going wrong, the useful day to call is today.
